Master Cargo has run cross-border lanes into Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Eswatini and Zambia for years. The trucks are the easy part. The planning around the border is where a shipment is won or lost.
Paperwork before wheels
Commercial invoice, packing list, SAD 500 and the destination country's import documents all need to be correct before the truck leaves the depot. A document query at the border can add a day, and on a refrigerated load a day is not something you have. We check documentation at dispatch, not at the border.
Border hours are not your hours
Not every post runs 24 hours, and the ones that do slow down overnight. Scheduled lanes are planned so trucks arrive at the border when it is fully staffed. This is one of the reasons we prefer scheduled runs to ad-hoc ones for cross-border product.
Visibility does not stop at the fence
C-Track tracking, dashcams and reefer monitoring stay live across the border, and the control room in Durbanville watches the whole trip. Customers who want the same visibility can have it on request.
Plan the return leg
A truck that comes home empty costs the same to run as one that comes home full. If your business has product moving in both directions, tell us. Balanced lanes are cheaper lanes.
Moving product into a neighbouring country? Tell us the lane and we will come back with a schedule and a rate.
